Extroverts~ Not just attention starved

When I was younger, I was generally the center of attention whether it was when I was with my friends or just at home with my family. And that happened whether I wanted it to or not. I didn’t ever try to be in the spotlight though so it really bothered me when people thought I was doing things just to get attention. It was just how my personality worked.
I was always loud, vibrant, and felt the need to be around people and entertain, but I didn’t quite know why. I hated being by myself and felt tired whenever I was alone. I felt the need to talk all the time and constantly engaged with strangers in public because I just had to. Once I heard the term extrovert, I knew that was me.
See extroverts are not attention-starved or purposefully over-bearing. We literally need to be around people because it makes us feel good, unlike introverts who need to be alone to get the same feeling. And you might be an extrovert too if you exhibit the following signs:
1. You really don’t like being by yourself because it makes you feel awful.

You get sad and tired when you’re alone.
2. But you feel energized when you’re around other people.
Source
Because extroverts get their energy from other people.
3. Silence can make you a bit uncomfortable so you find yourself filling dead air with chatter.
Source
You will always have something to talk about.
4. You’re always trying to find excuses to talk to someone.
Source
Literally anyone.
5. Which makes people think you’re fake or just attention-starved.

You’re not, and it’s really frustrating when people think that. You’re not fake at all, you just really like to talk and do things.
6. You have several circles of friends because you need to be around people so much.
Source
The more the merrier so you’re usually bouncing between groups.
7. Unfinished business freaks you out.
Source
You get stuff done and don’t really know any other way.
8. You can’t just sit around and not do anything.

Activities are your friend! You can’t stand not being busy.
9. You have to talk about things that are bothering you.

Talking it out with people helps you figure out a solution versus mulling it over yourself.
10. When you’re stressed or upset, you need to do something with people instead of taking time to yourself.
Source
It helps you clear your head.
11. You’re usually taking on a leadership role of some kind.
Source
It’s just part of your nature, and being a leader means you get to be around people!
12. You know what you want and make decisions in a snap.
Source
You hate mulling over decisions so you just make up your mind and go for it.
13. You really like to make plans so you don’t end up being alone.
Source
Also, if you don’t make plans you’ll never see your introverted friends.
14. But you’re also pretty spontaneous and will drop everything to go do something fun or hang out with people.
Source
You’ll never pass up an opportunity to do something fun!
15.If you are alone, you’ll often go to a public place so you don’t *feel* alone.
Source
Even being around strangers can energize you.
16. You sometimes feel self-conscious when your introverted friends need time alone.

You feel like they just don’t want to hang out with you.
17. You’re always calling and texting people.
Source
Because even when you’re alone, you feel like you need to talk to someone.
18. At the end of the day, you just want people to ~get~ that you can’t help wanting attention.

*sigh*
